8 easy marinades that are perfect for chicken

It can be a good idea to have different marinades to choose from if you want to vary the menu and give the guests new and exciting tasting experiences with chicken. And fortunately, there are many marinades that are perfect for chicken.

We have selected 8 easy chicken marinades, which may give some inspiration to your kitchen.

1. Lemon & Pepper

Lemon goes well with chicken, and therefore a Lemon & Pepper marinade is a sure winner. Mix lemon juice and lemon zest with squeezed garlic, sea salt, olive oil and crushed black pepper grains and let the marinade rest for a minimum of 30 minutes. Perfect, for example, for oven baked chicken!

2. Jamaican Jerk

You can also send your guests to the Caribbean with a tasteful Jamaican Jerk marinade. Dig into your spice jars and mix black pepper, cayenne pepper, chili, turmeric, all spice, ginger, thyme, paprika, salt and sugar. Add onion, garlic and olive oil. An exotic taste experience that can be adjusted as desired.

3. Teriyaki

You don’t need quite as many ingredients if you want to make a Japanese-inspired Teriyaki marinade. Mix soy and white wine vinegar with honey, peanut oil, sesame oil, cumin, ginger and garlic and put it in the fridge. Especially good for barbequing and frying chicken!

4. Honey & Dijon

With only five ingredients, you can make a creamy and delicious Honey & Dijon marinade. Mix honey and garlic with apple vinegar, dijon mustard and olive oil. This marinade not only adds a lot of flavor to the chicken. It also makes the meat more tender!

5. BBQ with Chipotle Flakes

Give the chicken a sweet, spicy and smoky flavor with a delicious BBQ marinade with Chipotle flakes. Take your favorite BBQ marinade and add some finely chopped garlic along with chipotle chili flakes and maybe some sambal oelek. Taste and adjust until you find the right combination between sweet and strong. A powerful marinade, which is especially suitable for barbequing!

6. Pesto

Chicken with pesto is always a sure hit and you can choose between the easy and the very easy solution. The easy solution is a homemade green pesto with basil, garlic, olive oil, parmesan and pine nuts. The very easy solution is that you simply buy green pesto on glass. No matter what it will taste amazing together with chicken!

7. Tandoori

The Indian-inspired Tandoori marinade has yogurt as one of the main ingredients. The others are typical ginger, garam masala, cumin, salt, pepper, coriander, cinnamon, paprika and cayenne pepper, which are to be mixed with onions, garlic, oil, lemon juice and the yogurt. If time is short, Tandoori can also be bought as a ready-made seasoning.

8. Sweet Chili Coconut

It’s no coincidence that sweet chili sauce in Thai means “dipping for chicken”. Chicken and sweet chili sauce are just perfect together and this easy Sweet Chili Coconut marinade is no exception. Simply mix these three ingredients: sweet chili sauce, coconut milk and lime juice. An easy way to give the chicken an authentic touch of Asia.

Lastly, we want to share a little tip with you who wants maximum taste from the marinade. If you mix your desired marinade with mayonnaise, the flavor will not just enter the meat, it will also remain on the meat during cooking. Especially suitable for barbecue and frying!
